We had a serious problem on a recent job. A tech hired an untrained helper for a biohazard cleanup. The helper had never cleaned a home before. He had one mop and one bottle of basic cleaner. No PPE. No enzyme cleaners. No equipment. The biohazard waste was left in the client’s trash can.

As the tech lead, your staff represents you. And you represent EC. When the work is not professional, the client does not come back — and one bad job can hurt our name in your whole local market.

  • Only bring vetted, trained people — everyone on-site must be ready for the job.
  • Equip your crew — the right products, equipment, and waste handling before the work starts (see post #012).
  • If you do not know how to handle a job, say so — never be embarrassed. We have resources to teach you, or we can pair you with a tech who knows that type of work.
Ask dispatch at 833-346-4652. That is what we are here for.

Here is how travel costs work at EC. Travel is part of the total cost of a job — just like labor, equipment, and disposal. The money for travel comes from the client’s payment when the job is completed. If a job does not happen, there is no payment — and no money to cover the travel.

We share this risk with you on every job. EC also puts money into every job: advertising to find the client, transaction costs to process the payment, and dispatch time to set it up. You put in your time and fuel to get on-site. You get paid when the work is complete. When a job falls through, we all take the loss.

Three ways to protect your travel:

  • Give your best price — a fair price makes it less likely the client cancels.
  • Confirm the job — check with dispatch before you drive.
  • Keep dispatch updated — share your ETA on the way.
Questions about travel on a job? Call dispatch at 833-346-4652. We will walk you through it.

Premium Tech (PT) status is the highest level in the EC network — and it comes with real benefits. Priority routing on new job assignments, access to higher-value projects, and more consistent weekly volume. Our PTs get at least one job a week, often more. Our top 5 techs have each earned over $150,000 on projects through EC.

PT status isn’t handed out. It’s earned through consistent performance across four areas:

  • Completion rate — Jobs accepted and completed without last-minute cancellations. Cancellations hurt your standing more than almost anything else. If something comes up, communicate early — that’s always better than a no-show close to the job.
  • Responsiveness — PTs respond fast to new assignments and dispatch communication. Clients need same-day response, and techs who deliver that consistently get priority on future work.
  • Quality on the job — Client feedback, clean closes, and documentation done right. Jobs that close without issues keep your rating strong and your ranking high.
  • Volume — The more consistently you show up, the more EC knows how you operate. A strong track record of availability and reliability is what builds PT-level trust.
Want to know where you stand on the metrics, or what it would take to reach PT status? Reach out to dispatch and ask for a status check. We’ll tell you exactly where you are and what the path forward looks like.

We realize the importance of getting paid quickly. Another benefit we provide is that we help clients find alternative financing solutions, yet you still get paid when you do the work. Here’s what you need to know about how EC handles payments and how to make sure your money lands on time, every time.

EC processes all payments through the platform. When a job is completed and marked closed, your payment is generated. We are happy to process your payment through just about any payment method that works for you; ACH, PayPal, CashApp, Zelle, or Venmo.

Three things that keep your payments smooth:

  • Keep your payment accounts verified before your next job.
  • Be sure to let Operations/Dispatch know the work is complete.
  • Most importantly, complete all of the work as agreed — you get paid when the work is complete.

Reach out to dispatch with any specific questions and we’ll walk you through exactly where your payment stands.

We get this question from techs regularly, and it’s a fair one. When a client pays for a job, where does that money actually go before it reaches you? Here’s a straight answer.

EC operates as a full-service platform — we don’t just send you a lead and disappear. The costs that come out before your pay reflect everything it takes to make that job happen:

  • Advertising & Lead Generation — Every job starts with a client finding us. We run paid ads across Google, Meta, and other platforms to generate that demand. Those costs are real and ongoing.
  • Credit Card Processing — Every transaction runs through a payment processor. Standard processing fees apply to every job collected.
  • Project Management — From dispatch to job close, someone on our side is coordinating, following up, and making sure the job gets done right. That’s built into every project.
  • Multiple Skill Sets — Some jobs require more than one tech with different specializations. Pricing accounts for that flexibility so the right person is always on the right task.
  • Customer Service & Client Support — We’re your partner when things get complicated on the client side. We handle disputes, reschedules, and follow-ups so you can stay focused on the work.
What you receive is your cut after those costs — and we work to keep that margin as strong as possible. Our goal is a model where the more reliable and skilled you are, the more you earn. Premium Techs see that difference directly.

If you ever have a question about how a specific job was priced or what your take-home reflects, reach out to dispatch. We’ll walk you through it.

Since launching Emergency Cleanings, we’ve been building something most platforms don’t bother with: a real network of reliable, vetted technicians who can show up and handle the jobs nobody else wants to touch. That foundation is starting to pay off.

Job volume is growing month over month. Denver, CO is live (see our last post). More markets are in progress. Behind the scenes we’ve expanded dispatch coverage, improved response times, and built better job matching so the right tech gets the right assignment.

The techs who are consistent, professional, and in it for the long haul are going to benefit most from where this is headed. More jobs, better support, and a network that’s worth being part of. We’re not done building.

Emergency Cleanings is officially launching in Denver, Colorado. If you’re based in or around the Denver metro, expect job volume to start coming your way.

Denver has been on our expansion list for a while. The demand is real. Trauma cleanup, biohazard response, and extreme property work don’t slow down in a growing city. We’ve been building out the local tech roster and we’re ready to go.

If you know reliable, vetted technicians in the Denver area who aren’t part of the network yet, send them to techs.emergencycleanings.com.

Many of our jobs require proper personal protective equipment. Every job is unique, but our techs should be prepared with these items at a minimum before arriving on site.

If you have questions about required equipment for a specific job type, please reach out to dispatch before heading to the job site. We’re here to make sure you’re always set up for success.

Emergency Cleanings exists for two reasons. First, there are skilled, professional technicians out there who deserve a reliable way to find work and grow their business. Not just occasional gigs, but a real pipeline with real support behind it. Second, clients dealing with trauma cleanup, biohazard situations, and extreme property conditions are navigating an industry full of unethical operators who overcharge, underdeliver, and disappear when things get complicated. They deserve better options.

That’s the gap we’re filling. Quality techs who do the job right, connected to clients who need someone they can actually trust. The techs in this network are what make that possible, and that’s not a small thing.

The standard we hold ourselves to is simple: reliable work, fair pay, and a company that actually supports the people doing the jobs. We’re not there on every front yet, but that’s the direction and we’re moving.

More markets, more volume, and a stronger network are coming. The techs who show up, do the work right, and stick with us are going to benefit most from that growth. That’s the plan.
